The book actually stays on a shelf in my bedroom as I have been known to read it before my bedtime. My 6 year old refers to the characters as if they are people we see regularly. Francesca brings her characters to life and conveys their character traits through her magical stories. My sons will recount the stories over and over and the older ones even discuss the gnomes personalities outside of "storytime". I have even overheard them whispering about gnomes when they outside playing! This is a wonderful book and it is truly magical for all ages!
