Astronomy – An Introduction

Hermann von Baravalle, PhD

edited and revised by Norman Davidson

Astronomy is offered to 7th grade students within the Waldorf curriculum and von Baravalle’s book will be wonderfully helpful in that context. However, Astronomy goes beyond a confined, pedagogical use in that it is actually a lovely introduction to the pleasures of gazing at the sky on a clear night. Baravalle clearly loved his subject, because that love radiates from every page. This is a book that will fire enthusiasm in young and old, and what is learned here and by carrying out the exercises will remain throughout a lifetime. A great little treasure, this one!
