It amazes me each time a new book by Charles Kovacs appears that a single person could gift so very many with the fruits of his work. In Kovacs' case, these gifts seem to just continue to pour out into the world.

Muscles and Bones is a wonderful overview of the material to be covered in the human physiology, anatomy, health and hygiene blocks of the Waldorf curriculum for Grades 7 and 8. It is illustrated throughout with really wonderful drawings and conveyed in the clear and insightful prose we have all come to expect from Kovacs. Kovacs' is someone whose soul-strength continues to work powerfully within the world even after his passing. This is simply great material!

Creating Ritual and Ceremony

Over the years, I have followed Linda Knodle's "Coming of Age" curriculum work with great interest and no small amount of gratitude.  She has opened doors and hearts for both students and adults, and has been instrumental in bringing human warmth and wisdom into the realm of what is generally called "sex education."

This little booklet continues the journey in a deeply practical way that is informed by love and a beautiful understanding of the human heart.  In it is a training exploration for adults seeking to offer their children and students meaningful ceremony to mark the key events of coming of age.

As with homeopathic remedies, its size is in inverse proportion to its healing capacity, and it is my hope that it is never just read, but is actually worked through by enthusiastic adults throughout the world.  The results of that working, I am convinced, will gift our students with an open-hearted understanding of their own sexuality and capacity for love.

Sex Education - A Creative Approach

I think this journey into human sexuality - and how to convey its physical, social and spiritual realities and outcomes to children (beginning at around age 12 for direct teaching) is one of the most refreshing approaches I've ever read. In the author's usual humorous and relaxed style, virtually every topic of importance is touched upon - actually, delved into far beyond the surface - in a way that is open, engaging and utterly unabashed. I can imagine this one volume being of enormous help to both teachers and parents as they guide children into a healthy adulthood.
